Reach out, say hello

"Welcome to Widow's Bay! We hope you enjoyed the three-hour ferry to New England's best-kept secret! Ignore the warnings about the fog. Everything's fine."

Beyond Widows Bay

In our first investigation, we examine the pilot episode through mythology, filmmaking, psychology, and folklore. We discuss Hiro Murai's grounded directing style, Katie Dippold's world-building, Raven's personality analysis of Mayor Tom Loftis, Lovecraftian influences, Celtic folklore, and the clues that may foreshadow the mysteries still to come.

Steven

Welcome everybody to Beyond Widow's Bay, where we explore Widows Bay mythos and the worlds beyond. Today we're diving into the series premiere of Welcome to Widows Bay. I'm one of your hosts, Steven.

Raven

And I'm Raven.

Steven

And what we're going to do is what we refer to as the Bay Briefing. So this episode is Welcome to Widows Bay, director Hero Murray. Murray. Murray. Murray. And the writer Katie Dippold. So we're going to go over to the individual characters as they're introduced, as the story goes, starting off with the mayor, Tom Loftus. Seems like most people call him Loftus.

Raven

They do. And I don't know if that's because he's kind of an outsider and they use his last name. Not sure.

Steven

Could be. Yeah, you find out later on that he ran unopposed in order to be the mayor. So, but the very opening scene is the fog. And it looks like who is talking is we find out it's Shep on the boat, and I assume is the harbormaster. And he notices that uh I guess he's got like a radar or something like that, so he sees that what seems to be fog that's coming up. Um so uh what did you think about how the the the show is shot and uh what were your initial thoughts on what it looked like?

Raven

I liked it. I thought it was very creepy and good at creating some suspense.

Steven

Yeah, I thought that too. Um supposedly Hero Um started out doing uh music videos of all things. That's where his directorial debut was to doing that. And um with this one, it definitely seems to be the island is its own character, I think. Um may actually be the the main character. Um and you can kind of see that in in how the fog comes up. It seems to be something people are worried about, even though a New England island you would think there probably is a a lot of of fog. Um but it it establishes the show's mystery.

Raven

And I think they see something in the fog, right?

Steven

Yeah, yeah. The fog uh is a precursor to something because the birds are flying away from it, which definitely seems strange. Um we don't know where the boat is going, so if the birds are flying to the island or away from the island. Um, but then it's almost like it's a smash cut to then Mayor Tom. Um and what appears to be uh earthquake.

Raven

The other thing about the opening scene is I think it shows right away that it's going to be a horror comedy because you've got them in the boat through this creepy frog and the I forget the guy, whoever the guy is is joking around about his problems with his wife. Oh, that's right. So like you have this creepy scene, but he's already joking around about the the trouble with his wife, and the other guy makes kind of a wise crack too.

Steven

Yeah, yeah, that's true. That's true. Uh so we kind of find out right away that uh it seems like Tom's mission is to um bring past prosperity, um, tourism, and uh uh bring new people uh onto the island.

Raven

Um yeah, he wants to make it a tourist destination.

Steven

And and to help that out, he somehow managed to have a writer um come to the island, and it seems to be a um tourist writer. Yeah, from the New York Times. From the New York Times. And um of course they had the power outage and all of that stuff, so um he gets into the office. And the the office, did the office strike you as interesting from a movie that we recently watched?

Raven

It did. We talked about this, but it reminded me of uh Jaws. Yeah. And the I guess this is the mayor headquarters of the police headquarters in Jaws.

Steven

Yeah, yeah, to where they were actually when the shark first uh comes up and they're talking about that. Um it it's it's almost the exact build-out of what uh Tom's office and uh all of that stuff is. But he's in there trying to organize stuff. Um and uh the one nice restaurant uh wants to close because uh the power goes out. Yeah, the salty whale. The salty whale. And uh since he has this uh reporter coming, he wants to make sure it stays open, and thankfully the um the power comes on and uh makes that happen, and then he notices that the um I guess it's the boat that brings everybody from the ferry, the ferry. The ferry. Because I I think they mentioned um forty-five miles off the mainland.

Raven

I do not remember, but that probably sounds like I think that's what it was.

Steven

Um but it it's coming early, and evidently it's because uh the there's supposed to be a fog that's coming in. So um they send the the guy that uh the captain of the ferry um tells him that he sent this uh reporter uh to um I guess the historical society, which is very, very cool. Um and uh it it's it's interesting in that the first uh thing that uh um they they mention is is uh Mayor Tom is kind of talking him down from everything that the cure I guess is the curator of the museum has has been telling him about.

Raven

Um trying to make it seem less weird.

Steven

Less weird, exactly. And um, but I think he leans into the weird a little bit, um, which is yeah, he seems into it. Yeah. Um but uh a couple things are brought up and uh all around this museum, one of the things I'm curious about is is is from the um from Katie Dippold and uh the individual writers on it is how much of the scenery is red herring versus Easter egg on future events that might happen. Because there's a lot of candy uh in this place from pictures on the wall, mannequins. Um it it it almost seems like it's a precursor for for uh some of the future episodes that are coming out. Uh but one of the things that uh she mentions, yeah, uh he he he says that everybody came onto the the island, uh the original inhabitants, and it was you know there was nothing there um except teeth. The the curator says that there are teeth, which is Except for the teeth. Except for the teeth, which is a weird it's a weird thing to say. Um and then of course that then segues into uh cannibalism and uh he tries to say no, and again, like you had said, the comedy of the show comes out, and literally right behind them is a giant front page newspaper uh that talks about the cannibalism that had happened on the island.

Raven

And they have a funny exchange about how long it took, and I think you know he's trying to say, oh, you know, it it took a while, but it was like four days or something like that.

Steven

Exactly. And you think day two, they were probably figuring out who they were gonna go for first and stuff like that. So um I thought that that was interesting, and then of course Tom's uh Tom wants to be like Bar Harbor, or he compares himself to um Cape Cod or Martha's Vineyard. Yeah, and drops the F-bomb about uh about being compared to them, which is which was interesting.

Raven

He drops the F-bomb a lot, which you know, which I can relate. But I think the first time he does it is when he calls and he's arguing with the uh restaurant. The the owner of the restaurant about staying open. Yeah, you're absolutely right.

Steven

Yeah.

Raven

Um so uh Yeah, and he says it's the best lobster. Right.

Steven

Um so they kind of part their ways and they're gonna meet up later on in order to discuss things. Um and I'm I'm guessing that's the the salty whale that they're gonna talk to each other. But he goes back to the office and um uh at at which point you get to meet Patricia, who I'm guessing is assistant.

Raven

She seems kind of second-command there. I'm not sure exactly what she does.

Steven

Yeah, but there's there's some funny exchanges between the the two of them. He pulls the calendar off the wall in order to put it in its coyotes? I think is it wolves or coyotes that are on?

Raven

Wolves or coyotes, except for the one page, which is a car accident. A car flipped over.

Steven

Yeah, and he stares at it for a little while and then hangs it back up. Um did we catch what the date was that he put it on? No. We'll have to go back and look at that because I'm wondering, like like I said before, are there any red herrings on this thing? Is are all of these things Easter eggs? And um have they paid so much attention to this um that they're actually going to have a timeline that is going to be useful uh in order to try and figure things out. Uh but one of the things that really um made me laugh was was when he mentions to Patricia about making sure we take care of him. And and she's like, Well, what do you mean, Tom? As if it was like a sexual favor or something like that.

Raven

She says, What are you asking me to do, Tom? And he's like, What do you think I'm asking you to do? That was very funny.

Steven

That was very funny. I think they kind of going off from this real quick, with the background on Kenny Dipole. My understanding from this is that the original script that she did was nearly 20 years old. It was a spec script that she did when she was in college. I think she went to Rutgers. And um, she used that as part of her resume, and I think that's a big thing that got her on Parks and Wreck as the writing crew, as part of the um the writers for the show, was uh at the time it was, I think, funnier and less horror, or maybe more horror and not as funny. But she is definitely um in in reading up on this, um, she mentions that she wanted the island to not be out and out scary, uh, which makes sense. Supposedly the population of the island is 3,000 people. So uh what would keep all of these people on the island or coming back to it if the island was terrifying? Um it seems like it. And it is, it's a nice, relaxed, uh laid-back uh way of living. But she does an amazing job of uh the funny along with the horror, um, not necessarily pulling the punches uh on the horror, because there are some pretty decent scary moments to it. Um but but I think it's it's very interesting um how they're doing all of this in the interplay between all of them. Uh to me, Mayor Tom reminds me a little bit of uh Michael.

Raven

Michael Scott in the office. Yeah. He definitely has some Michael Scott vibes going on. Yeah. I think he's a little smarter than Michael Scott.

Steven

Yeah, I think so too. Yeah.

Raven

But yes, I definitely get those those vibes there.

Steven

Um and then uh from there, uh they're talking about how uh they're going to, you know, um, with the uh reporter coming, uh they've got the sit-down uh session that they're doing, going around the room. Um uh you've got uh uh Wick.

Raven

Is this when he comes in and talks about how um Shep's missing?

Steven

Yes, yeah, yeah. So um and of course Tom figures that well he's probably just drinking it off because uh you know he had been out in the boat and all of that stuff like that, and that uh now's not the time for dealing with any of that stuff.

Raven

So yeah, I think Wick starts talking about the islands waking up and starts getting into you know what seems like a lot of conspiracy theory type of stuff.

Steven

Yeah, yeah. And and it makes me wonder uh if if it's if he's uh an unreliable narrator um or if this is all the stuff that that has happened before. Um and uh at this point I think uh Tom goes home uh to meet his son. Seems like he doesn't have a wife. Um I think we find out she passed away.

Raven

I'm not sure if it's in this episode, but maybe the next one. But yes, he it's just him and his son.

Steven

It's just him and his son, and his his son uh seems to be rather bored and he does what teenagers tend to do.

Raven

Um so uh uh I think this is where we get the first piece too where he says that he can't leave the island. He said this island's a prison. And then Tom tells him, you know, that's all gonna change. Um I guess he thinks by bringing in the tourists that's gonna change somehow. I'm not quite sure.

Steven

But Yeah, yeah. Uh uh it makes you wonder um what Tom's motives. I mean, one of the one of the things you I noticed when they were in the office and they were all talking about it is the chalkboard in the back of it actually listed the uh topics that they were going over. And it was very, very mundane. Uh stuff as simple as uh you know painting, I think it was benches or something like that, um potholes, uh wanting to get Wi-Fi on the island. Um and people do have cell phones, so even though it's it's a weird mashup, even though the computers that they're doing working on it look like 90s, 2000s type very old computers. I mean, people are taking out their iPhones and saying, I can't get a signal here.

Raven

They have them, but yes, I guess they only work on well, they don't have Wi-Fi.

Steven

They don't have Wi-Fi. Yeah, yeah. Yeah, so it's just all landlines, which in another thing.

Raven

They're just using them to play games on their phones.

Steven

I guess so, yeah. Yeah. So no TikTok, no Facebook, no Instagram, or anything like that. Um then you you get the backstory. Um you can tell that Tom and uh and his son they definitely do not um get along with the other.

Raven

Yeah, there's definitely some friction there. Yeah which can be typical for that age, but the scene's even maybe a little bit more.

Steven

Yeah, yeah. Yeah, I would agree. So after this, I believe this is when Wick signs this the horn because he he tells the mayor you need to sound the horn.

Raven

And he's like, hell no, we're not doing that. Yeah.

Steven

Um and I don't know what the horn is supposed to do. Um obviously there's an earthquake, there's the fog, uh, there's one person that's missing. And uh we find out a little bit more um when they all they all meet at the I guess the local dive bar that they go to uh sit down because basically uh Tom tells Wick, you know, uh turn off the horn and I'll give you five minutes interrupted.

Raven

And uh and he says, Okay, and you can't correct my grammar.

Steven

Yeah, exactly. Yeah, and it sits down and says, We're not going tit for tit, which is just uh very, very funny. But then he breaks out his little scrapbook of uh the I guess the past things that have happened on there and uh lists off a bunch of things that uh I guess the fog is a precursor to uh the big storm that stole people's souls and caused people to, I guess, uh kind of lose the sensibility.

Raven

And it turns their eyes white white and then step too.

Steven

Yeah, I know, and then Patricia, yeah, because Patricia's because one of the things is the lack of erection. Loss of erection. Loss of erection.

Raven

Which implies there was one to begin with.

Steven

So I mean it just keeps um so it's just it's just um it's it's very funny.

Raven

But they basically turn into zombies. Yeah, so we think that that's basically aggressive. Yeah, and um and then we'll get to see that pretty soon in action.

Steven

Yeah, pretty soon. So then uh it kind of uh eventually goes into uh the point to where um I I think that's pretty much about where um Tom Meach the reporter um goes over a couple other things, and um his his mind is wandering, and I I think I think he's thinking about the fog and everything, because I think before he left, wasn't he looking at the computer and looking at the storm and the fog as it was rolling in? So he had that on his mind. Um and Patricia reminds him, you know, hey, it's time to go, you gotta go. Um she's definitely uh uh a mama bear to him, I think, and keeping him on task and stuff like that.

Raven

So yeah, and you can tell he's stalling on purpose, he's really getting nervous about going out. Now, when Shep does attack him, was that before this? Is that why he's on edge or was that after?

Steven

No, that's after. Uh when they're in uh the restaurant and um the power goes out yet again, um everybody wants to leave. And um and that's when Shep comes through the door. He's got one shoe on, one shoe off, sock wet, um falls down. Um and um I no, I think that had happened before, right? I think so. Yeah.

Raven

Because then I think that's why he's so rattled, right?

Steven

That's why he's so rattled. Because then then um I believe the power goes out. And he doesn't want anybody to leave because he even screams, yeah, because the guy is in the the He's talking to the reporter. And uh he's he's telling there's there's two locals that are there, townies, I guess they would refer to him. And uh they want to leave, and he's like, No, no, no, there's something in the fog. And of course then the power comes back on.

Raven

Yeah, he has like a little breakdown.

Steven

So yeah, and then that's when the guy says, Oh, I get it now, you wanna you want to be Salem, you don't want to be like Martha's Ven Jr.

Raven

Which was very funny. I thought at first he was gonna kinda blow his chance, but that was a really funny way of like you know, keeping it in there.

Steven

Right, right. I guess that he was playing along with it. So so uh yeah, and uh at which point then it goes over to the doctor who who has has him, you know, Shepp is in there and uh sedated, and he's he's violating the hip HIPAA regulations by telling everybody exactly how much medication he's given them, and and even says, Well, I probably shouldn't have told you that, uh, which I thought was pretty funny. And and then there's the other scene where Patricia is in there talking to him about um her her true age, I think is what she refers to.

Raven

Yes. It sounds like she took like a cosma quiz or something like that.

Steven

Something like that. And uh says to Tom that uh she heard that um it helps if you talk to him when uh when they're asleep, and of course he says, I think that's coma for patients, and she gets all upset and you know storms off and goes back to the office and stuff like that, which I thought was funny.

Raven

Um definitely seems like a theme.

Steven

Mm-hmm. Um at which time Tom actually uh picks up his chart and looks at it. And the one thing that I had noticed was the age is thirty-seven, and which and you think about well, Patricia was mentioning that this was you know her what her age was supposed to be.

Raven

That might actually be a red herring to where they've She says her age was twenty-seven though, and she's in her like early 40s and 40s, yeah. Yeah, I I wasn't sure if it was intentional or if it was just supposed to be funny, like their, you know, small town doctors not paying attention to details, and the numbers are just transposed and he's 73. Yeah, yeah. So I'm not sure if it was just supposed to be funny or if there was some deeper meaning to it.

Steven

Meaning to that, yeah. So we'll have to we'll have to shelve that one uh to see if that actually ever comes back. But the one thing that Tom does notice is uh zero alcohol content. So he wasn't drunk, um, which um and then they do a really good job to where they've got Tom uh in focus, and he kind of leans forward uh into the camera and then out of the camera as he's reading it, and you keep seeing an over-the-shoulder of um the patient in the bed. And then finally um he comes around and he's whispering stuff to him. And as far as I'm concerned, if anybody is whispering to you to make you to come closer and closer and closer, and you know it's kind of a horror thing, I would kind of step back a little bit rather than getting down um and close to him.

Raven

So he was still pretty skeptical at this point, though.

Steven

Yeah, yeah, I think so. Um but of course Shep lunges out of the bed and uh opens his eyes and they're all white.

Raven

They're all white, yeah. We don't know the status of his erection. We don't. But he attacks him and struggle on the ground.

Steven

Mm-hmm. And he calls out for help, help, help, and a bunch of people come, including the doctor. And it looks like they're doing CPR on him. Um, but then later on we find out that Tom is in the office and he's talking to the doctor, and and he did die. Um, and they were asking if they were gonna do an aut you know what what the cause of death was. Um

Raven

So and actually I was double checking. They he goes to the salty whale after this. So that's when he's having uh dinner with the reporter and has his little breakdown. There's nothing in the phone.

Steven

Yeah, yeah.

Raven

Um which is funny and very ironic because you know now nobody believes him. Right at first team wasn't believing anything. So and I think that just about wraps it up, except for the very final end scene.

Steven

Uh which is Oh, that's right. Yeah, everybody else leaves. Um the waitress had gone out into the fog. Um and then uh she comes back and they do the whole scary thing over the whether he he she grabs his shoulder, jump scare, and uh it's just to give him the bill for everything.

Raven

Which looks like the reporter ran up the bill.

Steven

Ran up the bill, yeah. Yeah. Um so I thought that that was very funny. But yeah, and then he goes into the bathroom and they do uh basically it's a it's a it's a pan down through all of the different it looks like it goes three floors down. At least. At least. And uh what looks to be, it finally lands all the floors that are below it are all lit. So and they they don't look like they're um just dirt caves, they look finished. Um but it lands on what looks looks to be an electric chair.

Raven

Um and it's got restraints on there. It's some kind of restraint chair. It does look like electric, but nothing looks hooked up to it.

Steven

And that's that's pretty much it. That's what gets you to that um the end of that episode. So what are your thoughts on it?

Raven

I thought it was a pretty strong first episode. I will admit the first time I watched it I wasn't paying close attention. I was kind of multitasking. Um and I didn't pick up on a lot. So it's definitely one of those shows where you have to give it your full attention or you miss some of the the you know, the dry humor, the witty quips, or some of the details. So second time around, uh really enjoyed it. I thought it was a strong opening. I really liked the uh in scene, but just the mystery it created by showing that creepy chair.

Steven

Yeah. Yeah, it definitely opens it up to to uh the possibilities um for it. Um what are your thoughts on on uh Tom as as the main character here in his drive for uh bringing tourists to the island?

Raven

Yeah, so one of the things we want to try and do is some some character analysis. Um, and then because this is a very Tom-centered episode, figured you know we'd start with Tom. Um so the personality analysis tool I chose to use is the Myers Briggs type indicator or MBTI. I picked that one because I've been using it for uh work for a long time, for team effectiveness and that sort of thing. I won't get into that, it's a lot less interesting than applying it here. Right, right. Um, but I've probably have over 20 years of experience now with the tool as well as some other personality assessments. But this is one of the oldest ones. Um it's out there, it's based on the ideas from psychologist Carl Jung, who was a contemporary of Freud, uh, but a lot less crazy than Freud, in my opinion. So um, so it doesn't measure intelligence or mental health, it's just a simple way to describe how people tend to think, make decisions, and interact with the world.

Steven

Okay.

Raven

So there are four pairs or four preferences, and that's what it's measuring, really, is people's natural preference. Um and the pairings ultimately result in 16 different personality types. But I'll do a quick overview of the pairings and what they mean, just very simple. Um I may at some point record another uh just background on MBTI if you people are interested in getting a little deeper understanding. But just the the quick version, the close notes. So four pairs of letters. Um the first one is extroversion and introversion. This is the most common one that people are pretty familiar with. Um pretty much everyone knows extrovert, introvert.

Steven

Right.

Raven

Um so the first two letters are E and then I. And this is really measuring where you get your energy from. Is it from the outside world or from time alone? Basically, how do you like to recharge your batteries? Okay. So it's not necessarily the classic like introverts hate people. That's not at all true. Right. Um, it's really more about energy. And then the next pair is sensing versus intuition. Uh so sensing is S, and then intuition is actually represented by N because we already use the I for introversion.

Steven

Okay.

Raven

Um S versus N, and this is whether you focus more on concrete facts and details or on patterns, possibilities, and big picture ideas.

Steven

Okay.

Raven

Next pair is thinking versus feeling, so T and F. And this is whether you tend to make decisions primarily based on logic or on values and how uh people are affected. And then we have uh judging versus perceiving, so that's the J and the P as your last two letters. Um, and this is whether you prefer structure and plans or flexibility and spontaneity. Okay. So combining those again, you get 16 different personality types. Um the important thing to remember is it describes preferences and not abilities. Um, so an introvert can be outgoing, a thinker can be deeply compassionate, um, uh a feeler can be logical. So it's more just about what comes most naturally, not what you're capable of. Um but it's very popular for um self-analysis, self-awareness.

Steven

Um you use it for compatibility with other people? Like when you're doing this for work, is it because you're seeing how people work within a group?

Raven

Yeah, so you can see a couple different things. You can do it based on like individual pairings. Um, so you can see how your preferences compare with someone else that you work with. Um, and it explains a lot of different uh ways of thinking and the way that people approach things. It helps with conflict management and just general understanding of why people do the things they do.

Steven

Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.

Raven

Um and then you can also use it as a whole team and you can do kind of like a team chart. Um there's some other tools that are better for doing it with teams um that are similar but based on that.

Steven

So kind of stops putting a room full of honey badgers all together, type thing. Okay. So one of the things that we'd like to do with this thing is is is do an initial initial look at some of the characters and then um maybe compare them to other individuals, real, you know, or fiction or um that are you know out in the zeitgeist, and then also track them throughout the season to see how they might change.

Raven

Yes. Okay. So we're gonna call this Ravens Personality Board. Okay. And we're gonna start with Mayor Tom Loftus. Um and I'm gonna give you my best guess. It's some of the letters are easier to to type uh or type watch than others. Um and then I can kind of give any changes as we go along too, as we get more evidence on how they behave.

Steven

Right.

Raven

My overall pick for Tom based on episode one is ENTP, and I'll go through a couple examples here. Again, this is just based on episode one. I'm thinking a couple more episodes in, I'll revise and provide some more examples.

Steven

Sure, sure. Yeah, we only had 40 minutes to evaluate.

Raven

So the first letter E for extroversion, I'm pretty confident about that one. Tom seems to think out loud, bounces ideas off people, he seems to thrive on uh engaging with people. Um his vision for turning Widow's Bay into the next Martha's Vineyard.

Steven

True, true.

Raven

Um, you know, that depends on him persuading others and selling possibilities.

Steven

Okay.

Raven

So I do feel pretty confident on that one. Okay. The next is N for intuition. I am not very confident on this one. Um, but based on this one, uh I picked this one because he seems interested in what the town could be. Um so while everyone else is focused on centuries of history, folklore, Tom sees its potential and re-innovation.

Steven

So a little bit of a future thinker.

Raven

Yeah. Okay. Yeah. Um, but again, not super confident on this one. Uh the next one I am more confident on that's thinking. So T. Uh he definitely defaults to logic and problem solving. Uh when the town panics, he tries to explain everything rationally. So he's definitely a logical thinker. Uh and then last, I'm not as sure on this one either, but perceiving. Um he improvises quite a bit. He does seem to plan, but his plans change a lot as things go on. Right. Um, so I can't tell if his natural preference is to be planned or if his natural preference is to adapt and be flexible. Oh, okay. Or is that just more of the circumstances kind of that have gone on there? So um, you know, he he seems to be a creative troubleshooter um and not like a rule-following administrator so far. Right. Um, I actually don't know how good of a mayor he is.

Steven

Yeah, that's one of the questions. Uh uh I don't know if it comes up in this episode, but I think he ran unopposed. Yes. And it's one of those things to where is this a thankless job that nobody really wants? Um, and that he just kind of stepped forward. Um, I I don't know. I guess this is stuff we'll find out along the way uh as far as if he actually has a motive for what he's doing or not.

Raven

Yeah, I really can't tell.

Steven

Yeah. Okay.

Raven

But that's my type for now, ENTP, and then with a little more evidence, we'll uh reevaluate that, and then I'd like to do another character next time as well and start kind of adding to there and and try and do the main characters.

Steven

Okay. So confidence level and let's throw a confidence level on a zero to ten.

Raven

I'd say about a six right now. Okay. Um yeah, the the two letters I'm still uh and they tend to be the harder ones to determine just by watching.

Steven

So basically the more you interact with him, it's a one-way interaction, but the more you interact with them, the better this this might this might get. Now, the can we use this to actually kind of try and anticipate the way they may write some future things in the show?

Raven

We could. We could once we feel more confident in his type, I think we could uh think more about how he would behave and react to certain uh and what his next steps might be. I'm excited about that. This is assuming the writers are consistent with uh you know the way they have his personality.

Steven

So yeah, that's one of the things we'll have to find out.

Raven

Which so far it seems like it.

Steven

Yeah, yeah, yeah. And a little bit that I've read about this, um like I said before, with the um with the museum, uh, there seems to be a ton of Easter eggs in there. So I'd I would love, I'd be curious to see uh writers like this and showrunners. She's both uh a writer and a showrunner. They have what they call a Bible, and it's it's everything and anything that has to do with the story, so that if Mayor Tom has to, I don't know, he's got to make burgers or something like that strange. She will have his history of how he grew up and what his parents were like and any special burgers that were made, or if he worked in a fast food restaurant, stuff that may never work its way into the actual show, but it gives each of the characters, it builds a better skeleton for them to build their show around. And it you can tell they put a lot of love and effort into it. Um, and I can't wait to see the rest of it go out. Me too. Yeah. Well, all right. Well, that closes this case for now.

Raven

But every investigation gets stronger with more eyes on the evidence.

Steven

Uh if you spotted a clue we missed, have a theory of your own, or completely disagree with one of ours, hey, that's okay. Uh, we'd love to hear back from you.
